What does "one-trip" actually mean?

The "new" containers on the market are technically one-trip units: they are manufactured in Asia and, instead of sailing empty, make a single loaded voyage to the Americas. That voyage covers part of the freight, which is why they cost far less than a unit built to order. In practice, you receive a container with original factory paint, new seals, a flawless floor and, at most, a minor mark or two from port handling. It is not a "zero-mileage" container in the strictest sense — and we would rather tell you that straight — but it is the closest thing to new you can buy in Panama, with years of head start over any used unit.

When does new beat used?

A well-inspected used WWT unit covers most storage needs. One-trip wins in three scenarios. First, image projects: retail builds, sales offices, container homes and any structure where the finish is on display and gets judged. Second, export: one-trip units arrive with a valid CSC plate, ready to certify a shipment without prior repairs. Third, the long horizon: if you plan to use the unit for fifteen or twenty years, starting with zero rust and zero repairs means less maintenance and better resale value down the road. If your case is basic storage on a tight budget, we will say so honestly: a good used container will serve you well. Compare both options in our container grades guide.

How buying a new container works with Containero

The process is straightforward. Message us on WhatsApp with the size you need — 20ft, 40ft or 40ft High Cube — and we confirm real availability. We send actual photos of the unit and a written quote with a final price: container, taxes and delivery, no hidden charges. If it makes sense to you, payment is completed before delivery and we schedule the freight: 3 to 7 business days in the metro area, 10 to 14 in remote zones, with your fiscal invoice included. First time buying a container? Our guide on how to buy a container in Panama walks through every step and what to ask any supplier — not just us.
