When does the High Cube make sense in Panama?
The High Cube has the same footprint as a standard 40ft but stands 2.90 m tall outside and 2.70 m inside — 30 centimeters that change everything in a conversion. Once you install ceiling and floor insulation, essential in Panama's climate, a standard container ends up with a cramped interior height; the High Cube keeps a sense of space comparable to conventional construction. That is why it is the preferred base for offices, container homes, clinics and retail builds. It also pays off for storing bulky merchandise or fitting tall shelving: nearly 9 extra cubic meters of capacity without taking up one more centimeter of your land.
Grades: one-trip, Cargo Worthy and WWT
For habitable conversions we usually recommend a one-trip High Cube: a single voyage from the factory, no rust or prior repairs, the cleanest starting point for cutting windows and insulating. If budget rules, a well-selected Cargo Worthy offers sound structure at a lower cost, and a watertight WWT works perfectly as tall storage. Every unit is sold with its grade declared, real photos sent over WhatsApp and a written quote with a final price — never stock photos or numbers that shift later. Delivering a High Cube: access and height
For transport, a High Cube needs the same as a standard 40ft — an articulated truck, about 30 meters of straight-line access and firm ground — plus one detail of its own: height. Sitting on the truck bed, the unit rises past 4 meters, so power lines, tree branches and gate frames along the final stretch to your site all need checking. It is a point we verify with you before scheduling, usually from photos or video of the access. Lead times are the usual: 3 to 7 business days in the Panama City metro area and 10 to 14 in remote zones, with freight included in your written quote.
